Born in Regional NSW, Anna McGirr is a visual artist currently based in Melbourne. She will complete her BA of Fine Arts at the VCA in 2020. McGirr’s sculptural and video practice aims to link the visual image to the written word. Through memory tracing she writes personal narratives in poetry, prose and script that inform abstract video, collage and textile works. Instinct directs her delicately chosen colour palette as she finds beauty in the quiet appreciation of life, creating cosy, multimedia installations.
